Got picked up in 4x4 and had a 3hr drive to get to the seregniti. The weather wast so good on the drive there and the dirt road got a bit slippry and we saw a few trucks that had gone over. Once we got to the serengiti the sun was out and we had an awesom afternoon game drive.
Tash had told us that this time of the year was good for cats, and true to her word we saw heaps. We were lucky enough to come across a couple of lioness feeding there cubs right on the road. The mothers looked liked they had just had a good feed too as there paws were covered in dried up blood.
Had our first night camping in the wild, didnt get any action or at least slept through any sounds. Got up early the next day for another game drive. Sawour first leopard stalking some impala but gave up on the chase. Then on our way out of the serengiti we got to see a cheeta and its cub up close on a rock.
Camped at the top of the Ngorongoro crater the second night, and it was bloody freezing. The locals tried to light us a fire but didnt do such a good job. The next day was had a game drive down in the crater. Saw lots of zebras and wilderbeast here as the ones here dont need to migrate to the masi mara as the crater provides them food and water. The best sighting in the crater would have to be the old elephant we saw. By the size of its tusks Our driver thought it was bout 70 years old.
Then it was back to our campsite to pack up where a elephant came an invaded the campsite. Then a 3hr drive back to arusha. Stayed at a nice campground on the each of a lake. And after 3 days without a shower we were hanging out for a nice hot one, but unfortunatly got a cold dribble instead! TIA.
