We left Hue eventually and made our way, by bus to Hoi An. Hoi An was a pretty awesome place! Whilst there we each got items made by the local tailors. Dave got 2 suits made, one with his initials on the cuff, 3 shirts, a coat again with his initials on the cuff, a couple of ties and some shoes - you guessed it with his initials on!! Dan got a suit made and after a rather amusing miscommunication (well for myself and Dave) Dan ended up with 2! Dan had shown them a picture of the collar he wanted on the suit and when he came to the first fitting, he discovered the suit was in fact brown. They had taken what Dan had requested, but heard colour not collar! Dan also got 3 shirts made and a pair of trainers. I got a dress, a coat, a pair of trainers and a pair of shoes made, all for about 60 pounds- brilliant! The rest of our time in Hoi An was spent either at the beach or at the market, we each fell in love with the place and them with us. It got to the point that everywhere we went out, we had people recognising us and waving. By this point we realised it was time we moved on. We caught the night bus to Nha Trang, which was ok... We got a sleeper so it was slightly more comfortable and we did each manage to get some sleep, but it was still hot, sticky, squashed, and noisy! We arrived in Nha Trang at about 6:30am, so having checked in, went straight to bed. The rest of the day was spent checking out the town and organising our time there.
The following day, we went on a boat tour around the Islands off the coast. We did a bit of snorkeling, floated around in tubes at a floating bar, and went to some beaches, so it was a pretty good day.
Yesterday we went diving! Dan did a discover diving course, where he went on 2 dives and really got the taste for it, Dave didnt fancy diving, so spent the time snorkeling, which he really enjoyed. I decided to do a refresher course having already got my PADI, but not having done any since. It was amazing and reminded me just how much I loved diving. I did two dives in total and saw some fantastic fish and coral, I also did some some fun dive techniques, such as diving upside down it was amazing!
Today we spent some time at the market, then came across a tattoo shop, all I can say is one of us didnt come out the same! We are currently in a bar waiting for time to pass before our night train to Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City, where the beer is cheaper than the soft drinks....our train isn't until 8:30 its currently only 5!
