We flew with VietAir on Wednesday 30th for Hoi An. The flight lands in Da Nang, a then a taxi to Hoi An which is about 20 - 30 mins. Our hotel is located at the end of the road on the river about 20 min walk into the old part of town - a little further out than what I was expecting, but a taxi ride only costs about 60 000 VD ($3.60) which is well worth it in the humid whether. Off to Vietnam for a month. We arrived in Ho Chi Minh Friday 25th after delayed flights leaving Perth, and missing connections in Kuala Lumpur. Not sure that I'm very happy with Malaysian Airlines. Wednesday 10th April Day 5. I woke feeling better, I think I have caught a flu, hence the aches and pains. I was swapped to an afternoon shift, so with a sleep in I'm ready for another day. Took it easy in the morning catching up on the blog. The power drops out frequently which makes blogging challenging because you have to log back into wifi, and nothing has saved! Tuesday 9th April Day 4 Woke to a wet day with lots of thunder and lightning this morning, which is apparently a bit unseasonal. Early start for breakfast and ready to catch the bus to the Hospital at 7.30. We arrive at the ward and the patients are ready dressed and waiting for theatre in their beanies & blanket. The patients get a bag of supplies with a blanket, beanie, socks, and soap, toothbrush & paste, the kids get toys to keep them occupied...

Monday 8th April Assessment day First day of real work. The bus left for the hospital at 7.30 sharp. So breakfast at 6.30am.
