We made it Raglan!! Im in NZ for many different reasons, but the primary draw was to get better acquainted with the ways of the surfboard. Theres no better place than Raglan. A world famous location and one the best left-hand breaks in existence. It was featured in the surf classic "Endless Summer". Such a chill town with a great arts and music scene. Even has its own radio station, Rush FM. They knock corporate takeover, GMO's, sand mining, and blast Rage. Best i've heard here so far. Tune in online. All the sand here is totally black, a first for me, and it was even magnetic! You can drop some on your speakers and watch it dance to the tunes while u chill on the beach. Its very hard to leave Raglan and something always drew me back. Of all the time in NZ, by far I've spent more nights in Raglan than anywhere else. Definitely helped by the fact our friend at the surfshop, J.C. (insert walk on water joke), hooked us up with what he called "the bro deal". Super cheap board and wetsuit rentals you wont find in any brochure. So much to see on the north island, tho, and we carried on to a geothermal wonderland. But we'd be back...
