Just lazing around enjoying the warmth. Big feed of prawns yesterday and tonight is the fish barby at the camp kitchen. Not many fish being caught as the cold weather is blowing up from down south. Tonight is supposed to fall to 16 degrees. Have booked a sundown cruise for tomorrow so hope to get some good photos. First full day at Karumba. Went to Barramundi Breeding Farm and saw some huge fish. All run by volunteers and doing their best to keep up with the 100,000 tourists coming here every year. Had a 1.5kg mud crab done in Denny's chilli sauce tonight. Was a bit of a struggle but managed to finish it. Prawns tomorrow and maybe barra for lunch. Playing bowls tomorrow night at the local Recreation Club. Weather is great 30 during the day and 18 at night.

After two nights at Richmond we skipped Julia Creek as it was expensive and nothing to do. Travelled north to a camp site Called Bang Bang only 120km south of Normanton. (See photo) Had a look at Normanton but was not impressed. Arrived at Kurumba by lunchtime. Great spot with people catching plenty of fish. Will update tomorrow.

Travelled from Winton to Hughenden but not impressed with town. Good butcher shop and next time will visit Porcupine Gorge 100 km to the north. Travelled on to Richmond and will stay for 2 nights. Roads are fairly smooth but every few kms there is a double dip that causes a bit of exitement as you leave the road. Plenty of wildlife but managed not to hit any. Another day in paradise (26 degrees and sunny). Went to age of dinosaur lab in some amazing rocky plateau country. Packing up tonight to move on to Hughenden tomorrow. Have to keep going north to escape Victorians. Will be at Karumba on the Gulf on Tuesday and am looking foward to mud crab and barra.
