Oh my God! What an amazing end to the trip!! After leaving Zanzibar we had a couple of long days of driving. We stayed at a campsite that had a snake park - There were loads of snakes, tortoises, lizards and crocodiles. The snakes were being fed and we saw a few catch their prey. It was hard to watch the chickens trying to escape but amazing to watch the massive python catch and constrict before eating it! I held a snake but an unhungry and very small one! I'm so brave!! There was also a masai museum and shops so obviously I had to by some jewelery!! We then ditched the big truck and got into smaller jeeps that carried 7 people and had detachable roofs! We drove to the crater and stopped on the rim where there were amazing veiws. We had lunch on the rim but it was the most unrelxing lunch I have ever been through! We were dive bombed by Kites stealing the food right out our hands, surrounded by massive ugly storks and joined by a bush pig! In desperatly trying to defend my food from the kites I didn't notice the peanut butter in my sandwich and ended up being quite poorly for the rest of the day!:( It was still an amzing day though! We drove onto the serrengetti, had to defend our jeeps from Baboons!As we drove through the massive open plainswe saw 1000's ansd 1000's of wildebeast all gathered for the migration & spaeking to some guys who were there 2 days later they had all moved on so we were really lucky! There were also hundreds of zebra and gazzelle's. Through out the rest of the day we saw Girraffe, warthogs ( mainly their backsides!), loads of different birds and a herd of elephants that crossed the road between the jeeps! A mother and her baby were coming towards us when someone started their engine and the mother went to charge us! It was just a bluff but it was pretty scary for a second! At the campsite there was a fantastic lightning storm then hyenas "laughing" all night.

Next day we spent all day on the serrengetti. We saw lots of the same plus hyena, buffallo, hippo and then finally a lion! A female was at on a rock, we pulled up next to her, she got up and moved off and on the otherside of us 14 more lions appeared from nowhere out the grass, crosses between us and wondered off! We couldn't beleive so many were so near and compleatly hidden! Then we spottred a cheetah, it came closer and closer but wasn't paying us any attention as it was stalking the gazzelle across the road! It passed between the jeeps and then suddenly chased them! It was so quick! It suddenly went, caught one and then it was all over! Incredible! We then found a gorgeous male lion relxing by the water! By the time we were done we'd seen 3o lions, 4 males and 2 cubs! Awesome day! That night in our camp after I'd crawled in my tent we were visited by zebra, a bush pig, buffallo and a bloody elephant drinking from the water tank! Needless to say I didn't get out my tent!

Next day was the crater which was awesome. The veiws were spectacular. We saw 2 black rhino and a pride of lions who had just finished eating a buffallo - it didn't smell great but it was exciting to see! Had a lovely last eveing with the group then the final drive to Kenya.

I'm staying at the same campsite as the guides and its lovely here. Spent the last few days, washing, repacking and relaxing. Went into the city to the museum which was good and saw a tortoise eat a chameleon which wasn't so good! Conflicts with my emotions - naughty torty!! Also visited a girrafe centre and got snogged and head butted by one! Talk about mixed signals! We visited an elephant orphanage which was amazing! The baby elephants were so playful and clumsy - it was hilarious!

Flying to Joburg tomorrow then onto Sao Paulo on tuesday. Sad to say goodbye to such an amzing continent but excited to say hello to Brazil!
