Koh Phi Phi

We eventually arrived in Phi Phi around lunchtime the next day. The night boat was comedy with mattresses on the floor, albeit in rather cramped conditions! Thankfully I got a litte bit of sleep although my pillow buddies Sam and Ralph were a little bit close for comfort! My first impressions of Phi phi are rather disappointing unfortunately. I was anticipating it to be a small resort with some great beaches yet it seems to fall within the catchment of Phuket in that it is acutally quite built up and bustling. Accommodation here is expensive and crap - we eventually found some little guest house nowhere near the beach which is more comparable to post-War prefab housing rather than cosy little bungalows. The walls are incredibly thin.

Koh Phi phi certainly is not without its bars and restaurants so we did enjoy some good seafood during the next few days. Ralph and Al did yet another dive before we all went on a boat trip round phi phi and to some exotiuc sounding island such as Bamboo Island and Mosquito island - though I didnt get bitten! The highlight of the trip was definitely the sunset, which is the best one I have seen - hopefully the photos capture what it was like. Heading off back to Bangkok tomorrow which I am looking forward to as ever!
