I can't believe I'm saying this is my last day in Australia!
Even though I've only been here 3 weeks, I feel as if I've been here for absolutely ages, and I don't think I could've packed in any more sight-seeing and exploring if I tried.
I'm already making a mental list of things I will do when I come back: more days in Sydney and Byron Bay, Adelaide, Perth, Australia zoo again, Noosa, Fraser Island and Whitsundays. So it's safe to say I'll be coming back!
I got my first lie in in almost a week today and I definitely needed it - I could feel myself getting sick again due to exhaustion.
I've even managed to do all my washing today, which I carried out much more successfully than another girl on my floor who turned all of her clothes green. You'd almost say I was a pro now. *touch wood*
I'm planning on going for a walk to the lagoon and pier in a bit but I was waiting in the hopes it would cool down a little bit. Even people who have been here ages are complaining about the humidity and heat today!
Then tonight I have my last night at Gilligans, before getting a plane to New Zealand tomorrow, where I will meet DG!!! (I'm a bit over-excited about seeing someone I know)
Gilligans has been quite an experience and I would definitely recommend people to come and stay here, if only to be in awe of how lively it is at all times of the day. It is an absolutely huge hostels with the best facilities I've seen so far - a kitchen on each floor, a swimming pool, its own club, your own balcony etc. The only downside I found was if you are by yourself it is quite hard to make good friends as there are so many people here and most of them are already in groups. It's quite a daunting place to be by yourself! But once you meet people on day trips everything becomes a bit easier and then you start to see why everyone loves this hostel so much.
It will be interesting doing the kiwi experience now, after 3 weeks of organising everything myself. But I have to say I am really looking forward to not constantly having to figure out plans, hostels and activities alone!
Bring on NZ.
