Waking up in Surfers, we discovered two things. One: the lack of curtains meant it was actually light enough for us to pack in the morning. Two: the lack of air conditioning meant it was far too hot for us to pack.

After checking out, which seemed to be as much hassle as checking in (they decided to tell us we hadn't paid our $20 deposit in cash only 12 hours ago), we headed to the beach.

Although we felt ill and tired, we decided we didn't want to spend any time in the god awful hostel (definitely wouldn't recommend!), so we alternated sunbathing with hiding in the shade of restaurants, Starbucks and Ben and Jerry's.

I felt bad that Surfers came after Byron Bay on our trip, as the standard set in Byron was no where near reached and therefore our memories of Surfers aren't outstanding.

The beach was still beautiful, with way more skyscrapers than I had expected in a beach town, but dare I say it...we were getting bored of the beach!

With google maps as our helping hand, we walked to Budds beach, which promised still water and paddle boarding. However, when we got there we discovered the entire place was deserted and so we decided to enjoy our calm private beach for a couple of hours.

More than a little bit excited to sleep in a room with air conditioning, we got on our bus to Brisbane, hoping the next stop would be more exciting.
