Tom barely slept the first night so he tried a bath mat bought from the towns pound shop, that didn't really help either, the ground is far too hard!
We inevitably rose early as you always doing camping, packed everything up and caught the local bus back to town where we needed to catch the coach service to our next destination of Airlie Beach. The journey was about four hours on our super Primer Motor Service coach (we don't like the Greyhound scumbags), for the last hour it rain continuously, but you know you wouldn't expect anything else in Australia would you? Thankfully by the time we arrived the rains had stopped so we could pitch the tent. This time due to the rain thankfully on much softer ground.
When checking in we were given a free beer token as the hostel/campsite/bar also had a nightclub attached which we soon found was literally ten meters from our tent, oh well.
In the evening we bought a couple of the VB beers and sat in the tent listening to the music from the nightclub. Surprisingly we both managed to get a half decent nights sleep though.
