The two and a half hour trip on a coach to Meleka was a breeze and we easily caught a connecting bus from the long distance bus station into town. We walked around for a while trying to make our remaining Malaysian Ringget stretch as far as possible. We checked into the cheapest guesthouse we could find and set off out to look at the sites. We firstly headed to the Dutch Square, where we took some pictures, wandered through Chinatown and visited the Maritime Museum. After a couple of hours it was getting far to hot so we headed back to the guesthouse for a while.
That evening, after another disappointing meal (pretty sure we were served chicken head, not good) we were walking along the river and what earlier in the day had been a car park, had now been transformed into an Indian wedding venue. White tents had been erected with long tables inside and the wedding party was in full swing for all to see. We stopped and watched the entertainment which included dancing and singing and headed back for the night.
