We had and early start this morning as we wanted to visit the Taj Mahal! The ten minutes walk was pleasant and we made it for 6.00am hoping to avoid the crowds, heat and the famous touts you hear so much about. The experience was fantastic and well worth the 750 rupee (£10) tourist price.
The entrance to the Taj starts with a short courtyard, turning right through an archway it appears before you. We took loads of photos and tried to recreate the famous Princess Diana shot, it proved a little difficult as there were hundreds of people walking in front of the camera when we were trying to take the shot. We spent a couple of hours pottering around, taking in the building and atmosphere before leaving for breakfast. We found a nice spot a couple of hundred yards away in a rooftop restaurant, madness really these guys could charge the earth, but they don't.
Tomorrow we head for the mayhem of Delhi, we've had varied opinions of the city by those who've visited so we're keeping an open mind.
