We got up this morning after listening to the thunder storm during the night. Thankfully it had stopped raining by the time we left our room nice but so we decided to check out the beach before breakfast. The beach was really nice but very quiet, we only found a couple of the beach side hotels open, all the others were boarded up. We had a paddle in the sea and decided to go back later for a swim.
After breakfast, we looked around a few places who were selling bus tickets, as we're not massive fans of this town we have decided to go back to Phnom Penh tomorrow for one night and head to Vietnam from there. The boy in our guesthouse, after giving us the room for $3, had obviously decided he wanted to make his money back on us and was seriously trying to overcharge us for the bus ticket. With much else to do we looked around a couple more places before booking it with the lady in the mini-supermarket. All the other places we went to would sell us the ticket but we had to make our own way to the bus stop which was a couple of miles away. This lovely lady and said if we turned up early we could get a lift with her son on his way to work. Excellent!
Later that afternoon we headed back down to the beach, as we set off the sky became very grey and the wind really picked up. Again it was really quiet with only a few locals playing football. Tom convinced Rachael to ignore the mild "sand storm" and we soon dove into the sea before the weather got any worse. The water was so warm it was like bath water, after about half and hour the weather turned further so we retuned to our room about 10 minutes walk away.
We went for a few drinks on the main strip before tea but weren't there long as the men who frequent these bars aren't the type of people either of us want to spend any time with. After our tea we escaped back to the guesthouse early to watch some TV.
