Hi all,
Well here I am again on the last leg of my journey. I left Perth on 11th July after a teary goodbye to all the great friends I had to leave behind. I have met some great friends (friends who I hope to keep in touch with forever) in Perth and found it to be one of the hardest goodbye's yet. I found it so hard that I drank a full bottle of Champagne before leaving (at 11am) I will put the pictures on when I get more time!!!! Actually this is just another day in the life of a backpacker so I don't know whay I sound surprised with myself.
As you all may/may not know, I am now heading to Darwin on a Road Trip with some of the girls I was living with in Perth. We have hired a Campervan out for 25 days to drive there so we can see all the sites on the way. We are now on day 8 of the trip and everyday is getting better and better. The West Coast has much more land than the West Coast and you can literally be driving for 200/300k and see nothing on the road other than trees, dirt and dead kangaroos but when you finally come across a lake, a beach or some kind of tourist attraction, you totally know it was worth the drive. It is going to take us approx. 25 days to drive to Darwin (driving approx. 8 hours per day) and there are heaps of things to see on the way.
I am going to sounds like a total traveller now (and you will probably all laugh and wonder what has happened to me) and I don't mean to but..................... we go to bed every night looking out of the window under the stars, wake up to the sunset by the beach (usually with a Tequila sunrise) and have dinner again by another beach/lake with another tequila sunrise or a glass of goon (I will explain what this is when I come home) - its totally amazing and I wouldn't change it for the world!! I am not going to get into what I have been doing too much as it will bore you all but a few things that I have been doing are........ feeding dolphins at Monkey Mia, swimming with coral and sea life at Shark Bay, searching for Dinasour prints at Broome, relaxing at Shell Beach (a beach totally made of shells) etc etc. I will show you all the footage when I get home, its truly amazing!!
Well as you all know this is my road to home as when I reach Darwin, that is my travelling around Australia complete but I have got to say, this is the perfect ending to a perfect trip and I would not change a thing...... even the fact that I have to pee in the bush in the middle of the night sometimes.........!!!!
Well I would love to stay and chat but I have got a lovely sandy beach waiting for me just a few minutes walk away :)
Just a little note in case anybody has been trying to contact me by phone/email - The West Coast is very remote and only has 3 major towns so I do not have a signal for days and days but if you leave a message I will be intouch as soon as I get some signal xxxx
Hope you are all well and loving the English Summer - Speak to you all soon
