One word and that is immense! Thats the only way describe ha longbay its awesome. The weather was poor but all the same still had a great time.

We set off from hanoi at 8.30 and arrived at ha long bay around 12.30. It was bloody cold (same as guernsey) and misty so was not the greatest time to go and see it but oh well!

Anyway we set off and these massive rocks started to come into sight i think there are 1095 islands about so quite a few! The boat was a bit slow for my liking, i think a speed boat business would do well there. Our guide called hi was on form again and was very informative.

By far my favourite bit was when we kayaked to through a small cave and into this canyon it was really peaceful with no one about, our own ha long bay. Saw a Monkey too! After this we raced to a beach which was a long way away but me and hi beat ryan and pat comfortably so much so i had time to swim out and capsize them which they were not too happy about! The water was surprisingly warm above guernseys water temp. After this we anchored with lots of other boats in this sheltered part of the bay. We had some food and bruskis and headed to bed after learning some vietnamese ie thanks = Cam un, hello = sing chai and hello beautiful = em zen sing. Had a great nights sleep also and now we are off to hoi.
