"This is why we won't delay for your birthday..."
Ola! Im in Spain's capitol this morning. Been a pretty crazy few days here. The hostel was cool and had some cool kids in it. And the city itself is really beautiful. All the streets are lined with amazing old detailed buildings. First night here we had a amazing tapas style feed with Ozzie and Ricco for the last time before they headed home. Was really filling I mean we got, squid, pork, black puddings, breads, salads, falafels, chicken you name it. And then to top it all off the waiter gave us free shots of something which is traditional after big meals. Love to tell you what it was but I have no idea.
Heading out on the town here is like the rest of Spain and doesn't start till way to late. Ruins the next day too. So we wasted a day recovering and changing hostels after not being able to extend out accommodation. Cheers to Fefe for the night out and effort on the hostel anyway.
Eventually we got our tourist on again and saw the Palace, Lorenzo Cathedral, The Prado Art Museum and Retiro Park. Each as epic as the last, Retiro Park has got to be up there as one of the best gardens in the world. Check photos. Last thing on our list that we really wanted to do was a Flamenco show. We found one randomly near the town centre. It was by far the best guitar playing I have ever seen. Also the dancers and incredible. It's kind of like tap dancing and I'm convinced the guys in there could hold the world record for taps pre minute. So fast! Must do for anyone visiting Madrid I think.
