"All the other kids with their pumped up kicks..."
Arh Florence. I had heard about how amazing this place was and I kinda figured maybe I'll go. I didn't really know why. I got here and right away loved it. So much more relaxed than Rome. People seemed nicer. Streets were cleaner and it still had the charm of a small town while being a city. I meet Rossi and Jemma here to! Hooray! We spent our two days mostly checking out the town and eating. I mean it is Italy. I also managed to fit the footy in. Go Eagles! (bam bam Dias!).
Once Rossi ad Jem left I went with James on the vespa tour of the country side. If I want already in love that did it. We got out to this farm about 40mins from the city. Then James, me and the guide hoped on mopeds and went for a burn. He said because of our experience and ability he would take us to places most groups don't get to see. This mopeds got abused off road. Like normally what I would take a 4wd on. Then when we hit the tarmac again it was full throttle through the twists and turns on the mountain top. The bikes weren't fast enough to be amazed by the view but. Then we stopped in Castlina, to have a coffee and see the small village. Before another awesome ride back to the farm. When you think it couldn't get any better. Lunch and wine tasting! Best gnocchi and even I enjoyed the wine. So you know it's good! The single best tour I've done.
I left Florence the following day feeling like I had more to do. Got to Venice and meet up with friends Malee and Sinead. We all explored Venice doing much the same as Florence and just eating. So much gelato. With the three off us we booked an apartment it worked out cheaper. There wasn't all that much left to do for us in Venice so next day number one plan was gondola ride. More the cheaper so we teamed up with other friends Valerie and Bec. The gondola was so nice. coupled with some cheese and beers we all had a fun. Trying to understand our Italian guide was hard though. As much as we didn't want to break up our now 5 strong team we all had plans to end up in different places. So now after being first to leave I'm on a train back to finish what I started in Florence.
