Wednesday : fine

We did have big plans for our last day in India. We wanted to go see Old town near the Red Fort and the surrounding parklands beside the river, but somehow we didn't follow through.

We had a 10am breakfast, then went back to the room a mucked around on the net. We did eventually leave the room around 2pm.

We decided to skip the fort, we thought we have seen enough forts. We went looking for a Europe lonely planet, we were unsuccessful. They wanted the normal price, and they couldn't/wouldn't tell us if it was the latest addition either. We thought we might pick one up at one of the two airports we visit tomorrow, that will save some weight too.

I was I the hunt for an India map, and out of the 10 or more bookstores we went to none had maps. I ended up finding one at a store near a chemist we were at, I needed more cough medicine.

We did find a maccas to cheer us up from our unsuccessful shop, we haven't had maccas since China. Seeing how the cow is a holy animal, chicken is all that's on the menu.

We stopped off at a super market after the burgers, to pick up a few personals and some breaky juice for tomorrow.

We got back to the room and packed our bags, and aimed for an early night. But it was going to be hard, its a loud night tonight.

Yeah we won't be missing the honking, extreme poverty, public urination, air pollution, rubbish everywhere or the snorting and spitting.

Even with all of the above India was a surprisingly great place to visit. Before we got here we were thinking it was going to be terrible. We were suppose to be in and out within 4 days, we ended up staying for 18. We could of stayed longer, but needed to get to Europe. The people were very nice, especially around the Diwali festival time. The food was really good too, back home I was never a big fan of Indian food, I liked Chinese food over Indian. Now We have been to both countries and the Chinese food in China was terrible and the Indian food in India was great. For me though I loved the cricket I never got to play or go watch a game, but it was on all day every day on the tele.
