Tuesday : sunny
Well if we thought that we were lucky yesterday in being able to see Mt. Khengazonga. Then today we were extremely lucky because it was clearer than crystal. We were only unlucky that it wasn't this clear yesterday, to go do the sunrise tour.
I did think something was up this morning. I was woken up at 3am, by all the 4wd taxis parking outside our hotel, to drive their loud talking, car door slamming passengers, from surrounding hotels to Tiger Hill for sunrise. They're there that early because it takes so long to drive just 25kms. They haven't been there any other morning because of the cloudy weather.
We wanted to go there, but there was no point if the skies weren't clear, and seeing how we are leaving today we won't be able too, because they get back after we are suppose to leave.
Nevermind, we got up and got ready then walked back down to the lookout. Today it was perfect we could see all the mountains. No Everest from this height, tiger hill is were you can see Everest. We only had a short time there because we had to walk back to the hotel and meet our taxi.
The driver was there waiting for us when we got there, we quickly grabbed our bags and loaded the 4wd. It still took over 3hrs to drive to the airport, but it was so much better this time Down the mountain. We had the room to stretch, and the car was new, smooth and quiet.
We took some backstreets this time too, the road was so skinny. But the scenery was top notch, we could see Khengazonga most of the way down through all the tea plantaions and bamboo jungle.
We got to the airport and had no problems checking in, only a short wait through security. Then got to watch some cricket, before we boarded the plane.
The Jet airways plane this time was very ordinary, there was no food or drinks even WATER! included in the $140 ticket price. You had to buy everything, they were the more expensive tickets too, because it was the only direct 2hr flight. Kim and I think that the flight attendants get together and charge for meals, drinks, tv and split the money. We did fly past Everest and khagchenzonga, from a distance though.
We were glad to get off the plane, Kim didn't have a very comforabke flight. She had some bloke leaning all over her for most of the flight, And was very happy to of gotten off the plane.
We took a cab from the airport, back to the same hotel we previously stayed in when we first arrived in Delhi.
The welcoming was friendly as when we first arrived almost 3 weeks ago. We had a couple hour rest, then went down the street for an early dinner.
Why is it when we have gone to a restaurant for the first time, the second time is never the same? It took forever to get the food that we didn't even want. They were out of a lot of ingredients it seemed.
Anyway it filled the hole, we then went and did a super market shop and picked up some ice-cream. We then watch some movies before bed.
