A short stop at bohinjsko Jezero (lake), the biggest glacial lake in Slovenia. It's much less developed than Lake Bled and has a more relaxed and natural feel to it. Had a nice walk by the lake, not enough time to walk all the way around. It's a popular place for school excursions as the children can learn about the things that live at the lake shore. It's very popular in high season for camping.

Cdarg is the highest village in Triglav National Park. About 7 families live there and they are all dairy farmers and certified organic growers. We stayed at marija and Donelo's farm. I got the impression that they are St the centre of village life and that Marija is a kind of mayor. We have said goodbye to the Soca River and headed into the hills to visit the Javorca Spaminska Church. Built to honor all soldiers who fought in this area, it has to be one of the most beautiful churches. All wood and unusual decorations set in a stunning location combine to make the climb all worth the effort. As we sat there all I could here was the breeze and the cowbells.

This small alpine botanic garden is one of only a few in Europe. The garden is not doing so well because of climate change. The woman working there said that all the plants were blooming too quickly because May is like July, and losing their petals too quickly.
