At this bizarre moment I am sitting on the ferry to go to another side of this beautiful lake, one of the countless lakes in the park. Bizarre because the lake is so peaceful, the frogs are chirping loudly and the ducks are landing ... and at the same time the radio on the ferry is sending out some really bad rock music and a few workers are mending a fence with a chain saw. Zagreb, mmm, if I can sum it up after a day and a half it's with 3 G's: God, grafitti and goths. God: the centre of the capital of Croatia is the Catholic cathedral! And the main square. There are so many devotional spots here and there, including a transition alley from the old city to the new where locals come to give flowers and thanks and pray. I am on train to Zagreb. Beautiful trip by the river mainly through rural areas. I decided to get an early start so that I can do a bit of exploring this afternoon. Arriving at about 10:30. It rained for the first time on my trip yesterday so I took the opportunity to update photos and blog. We drive into Ljubljana in the morning to pick up Ana and Daniel and plan the day. We take a short walk up to the Castle (Dan loves castles). Then we head to Bled for a wander around and a nice, relaxed lunch before Ana and Dan take the train to Austria. Back in Ljubljana Katerina drops me off but I will see her tomorrow St the art market to say farewell. The end of the fabulous tour.

After a tough night on the horse farm we decided to skip the horse and cart ride and meet up with Martin for a canoe ride on the disappearing lake. As we canoed and walked the lake Martin covered the geology, biodiversity, politics, myths and lots more about the lake.
