Set my alarm for 6.50 nice and early for the bus at 7.10 into town. Said my goodbyes to the few that were up so early then got on the greyhound coach.

It took around 2 hours to get to mission beach, mission beach is broke up into four parts. North mission beach, south, wongaling which was my area and the other I forgot the name. I remember reading that the hostel is actually technically classed as a holiday resort and has 4 stars so I thought it should be spot on.

Literally the hostel is located right next to everything I need, 5 mins down the road is the beach which is massive I took a walk along it to see how far it goes, and the liquor store, supermarket and newsagent are all a two minute walk in the other direction, as is the bus stop and a little cafe area place. The hostel itself is a lot cleaner and more well looked after but it is quite a lot smaller, it has sun loungers and a nice pool and a big kitchen, a pool table, a tv room where I watched tv for the first time tonight in a month and can't say I've missed much. The toilets are much better and my room isn't too bad, guy called ollie (probably german) living with me. Also it's a lot more laid back and chilled, and with no bar attached to the place I'll be saving more money than I have been.

Soon as I got settled I had a quick half hour on the internet, did my clothes washing and had a look at the beach, a guy in the hostel working for accommodation actually went to calypso for a bit and we remembered eachother, hes a canni lad so it's not bad.

Like calypso they also try to have daily entertainment and today they had a woman bring down baby wallabies (pretty much a kangaroo) in these sort of fluffy pouches but because the mother has died they are put in there until 12 months old, and a python came but I got a pic with one the other week so I didnt bother.

Watched tv for a bit, booked up to have a look round dunk island tomorrow, complimentary snorkel hire so if the water isnt freezing I might have a look with them down he beach over there. Now I'm ready for bed as I'm shattered!
