Haines Junction, Yukon Aug 5, 2011 We didn't do many hikes in Yukon, as the Grizzly bear stories got the better of me, so we drove and drove (well Steve did)
Whitehorse, Yukon Aug 4, 2011 Vast, wild and beautiful describes the Yukon scenery, you get to see sand, desert, forests, streams, lakes, mountains and they go on and on as far as the eye can see. It is rich in history, and one can learn a lot from the stories of the Natives and the pioneers.
Rancheria, Yukon Aug 3, 2011 We arrived at Stewart last night and traveled to the neighboring township of Hyder (crossing to Alaska and back) this morning, hoping to see some grizzly bears from the viewing platform specially built over the stream, where the bears come to sample the salmon as it travels upstream, we got a glimpse of a black bear and plenty of left overs from the dinner party the night before. We made it to the Yukon border.
Stewart, British Columbia Aug 2, 2011 Today we headed towards Stewart, but we had a stop in Hazelton BC where we visited the Ksan Historical Village. Have a look at the small entry door they have in their houses, it is designed to protects the household against attacks by others, as only one person can enter at a time, how neat is that?
