Awoke this morning to rain, in fact awoke throughout the night to rain. After a restack and drive to the showers it was off to the two sisters www.twosistersbakery.net/ for breakfast. The decision was prompted on the thought of trying to cook breakfast in the rain and the recommendation from some fellow travellers.
This turned into another great choice as the pastries were great and the coffee was good to boot. Free wifi although all the electrical outlets where taped over and noted not for public use.
After a good pastry and coffee we decided to drive down East End Rd which runs for 20 miles east of Homer. The road offers great views of the inlet and the glaciers and the Harding Icefield. The journey was uneventful but for a hold up for a traffic accident that was quite serious. Still this did not deter us on our journey and the views made up for the delay.
The drive back we decided to head down to the Homer Spit to have some lunch and walk the shops along the spit. Again the weather conspired against us so we ate from the food we had in the car. At this point I decided that a walk along the spit in the wind and rain was not going to help me to recover and so suggested to Shoeleh that she could walk and I would have a little sleep.
She too was not enamoured to walking in the weather and decided to catch up on some of her photos while I napped. About an hour latter feeling not much better we headed back into Homer.
Again a little drive around town and off to the RV before heading out for an early dinner.
Café Cups www.cafecupsofhomer.com/ for dinner another excellent choice with fine meals of a good size delivered by helpful staff. The venue was very interesting with windows doors and the outer building covered with portions of cups and bottles. Inside the decorations were also a little odd and slight overcrowding but the place was popular. As my health was not up to it we headed off to dinner early and the place filled while we were there and there was definitely bookings for a second sitting. All in all a great meal.
On our return to the RV park, Shoeleh up and went for a beachside walk. I am sad that I could not join her and a little annoyed at how great she said the walk was. So after a day of feeling sorry for myself we set up Clancy in a break in the rain (flyscreen again) and went off to sleep.
