today we went to steve irwins zoo (Australia zoo). since we were going by public transport it was a 2 hour journey so we were up at 6.50 to go and catch the bus then the train then another bus. it was worth it though cause it realy is the best zoo on the southern hemisphere.

when we first got there we saw a queue to get your picture taken with a koala so we decided to do that since we never realy got a chance to d it in other places we stopped at. lets just say we now realy realy want a pet koala

there was also all of the usuall zoo stuff you would see back home apart from the amazing koalas but they put on realy good shows here aswell. we had arrived in time for the main one of the day which was a croc, bird and snake show so we watched that first it was brilliant. after that we had a walk around as you do.

the highlights of the day were hugging a koala for a picture, feeding 3 fully grown elephants and watching a tiger play about with his male keeper with a large stick . it was great to see the tiger play about cause usually you go to a zoo and just see them lay there doing nothing. there was a large pool area in his den built right next to the viewing glass so the keeper would fling a ball into the water and the tiger would just jump straight in after it then he would be inches away from you it was amazing to see i think were going to end up booking an up and close experiance with tiger cubs so wel let you's know if we do that.
