An early start for our kayak ride down the river. With our local guide , Vishnu, we precariously step into the long shallow boat one by one with around 5 cm between us and the surface of the water. We spot quite a few birds and vrocodiles lining the edge of the water. We stop a fair way down the river and jump out to catch a glimpse of the rhinos bathing again in a seperate patch of water. Back on the boat we glide downstream to stop and start our 'jungle walk' back, unfortunately the best we managed to see was a pile of rhino poo and some red beetles and baking heat in the sun. We end up at the elephant breeding centre where we see a set of twins - the first born in Nepal. They don't look to happy but they are beautiful creatures. Aftr heading home we do a little morestrolljng and get a quick (not very nice) lunch before our elephant safari at 3pm. What a ride! Sooo many bruises! All four of us were in one box on an elephants back. Legs straddled around each post we baked grouch the trees, waded through water and baked in the sun as we hunted for as many animals as we could find. Just minutesbinto the ride we saw a rhino, oblivious to our presence as the elephants mask the human scent. Later we saw monkeys, deer, frogs, birds, crocodiles and many little bugs. After 3 hours we arrived back with a few sore joints and headed for dinner at kc's. Omg that was the best meal I have had in ages!!! Grilled catfish with butter nbrgrtables an roast chips, sublime. Thr last bite wa as hot as the first. Yum. We rounded off the evening with a good game of cards and plentiful of local rum.
