Saturday, April 6, Joan and I ventured out on the cross-country ski trails out of the Breckenridge Nordic Center. It was a gorgeous sunny day and though the temps were in the 40's, the sun was warm and we were ale to sit out on the deck if the Hallelujah Hut about halfway through our 8 mile trek. We had a great time all day. And the hot tub felt really good.
While we were out trekking, Katherine, Megan and Will were downhilling on Peak 8. Reports were that Katherine hasn't lost her form, and Megan & Will did great shaking the rust off their skiing skills.
We had a delicious dinner at the Breckenridge Brewery before crashing quite early.
Sunday, April 7
We all arose early to head outside and enjoy the mountain sun before predicted snow showers rolled in during the afternoon. Joan went back to the Nordic Center where she opened the trails. She was teased by the squirrels who seemed to be taunting her on the trail.
Katherine, Megan, Will and I went up to Peak 8 and I learned that my skis still work. We had a great morning and early afternoon on the slopes. Megan, Will, and I decided it was our job to make Katherine look good on the slopes. She consistently smoked us down the hill and took videos of us slowpokes catching up. It was great fun.
We all met back at the condo and cleaned up before heading out to dinner at MotherLoads. Burgers, paninis, and chicken & biscuits were the fare. And they had PBR on tap.
The kids headed back to Denver. Joan an I headed for the hot tub where we soaked as snow fell on us. What a great way to end the day.
