Day 72 7th feb
After a late arrival last night we have a relaxed start to the day...
We grab some breakfast, only this time we opted for buying from the main menu as our " included" breakfast was not so good....
The club sandwich that arrives is fantastic and it's gone in minutes....
We'd bought some snorkel gear last night in Ao Nang and our intention today is to take the waterproof camera out and explore the sea around the closest island to us....
We cover ourselves in sunblock and wade out into the waist deep warm water and head the the general direction if the island.... The island looks very much like the rock formations that make up Ha Long Bay only this time there is only two... The one we aim to reach today, followed by another directly behind it and further out....
As we walk and snorkel out the water depth ever seems to increase.... The floors made up of 99% sand with the occasional crab hole or lump of sea weed.... We make it over the the island and spend some time exploring the sea and rocks, but there's not a huge amour to see.... There are fish there, but there not plentiful....
We've observed a group of local Thais fishing the area daily... They appear to walk around on there knees holding a large net, with boxes that float.... I think there looking for crab.... There's never enough fish here to make it worth while....
After spending a few hours floating around we decide to head back in.... We pass a number of jelly fish swimming around... But they are only small... But then Shiree spots a large one... We take a few pictures but leave it alone.... The suns hot, and I can feel it heating up my back so I'm glad to find the shade if the pagoda in our bungalow complex.... We spend the rest of the day just chilling... There are a couple if hammocks that hang between the larger trees that boarder the beach.... I find Shiree in one if these and climb into the other... I spend the next few hours in this hammock until I free fall to the ground, landing in a heap where one of the knots has come undone.... I re-tie it and gently climb back in, only for it to happen again half an hour later..... I'm leaving dents in the sand there I've been landing, so decide enough is enough and leave it for someone else....
We have a nice evening meal... A really good Pad Thai and we introduce Michelle to fried banana...
On initially meeting her I thought she was an old moaner... And she is, but she's grown on the both of us in our time here...
