Sorry for not writing a post sooner but with Christmas and all that time has got away from us!
Looking back, we arrived in Bangkok on the 21st from Cambodia and stayed at a great hostel called the bed station, by far the nicest hostel we have stayed in so far! We spent our time in Bangkok grabbing a few things we needed in the western shops and sampling all the delicious Thai street food that we had missed! On the afternoon of the 23rd we flew down to Phuket where we were to meet Martin and Louise.
Before they arrived however we had Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to enjoy with a group of people we had met in Siem Reap. We had Christmas dinner at an Irish pub which was delicious and then all went for a swim in the dark!
On Christmas Day in the evening we moved down the island to Cape Panwa to the hotel where we were to meet Martin and Louise. The hotel is lovely with a big pool and private section of beach! Martin arrived on Boxing Day in the early hours of the morning after a very long flight from the uk.
Since then we have enjoyed the pool, cycled down to some secluded beaches, enjoyed great local food, hired motorbikes and explored the island, spent New Years on the beach in Kata, been rained on, got sun burnt and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it (except maybe the rain).
Martin and Louise are leaving tomorrow night and then on the 3rd Sarah and I are heading to Krabi to continue on our travels! I think it may be difficult to get back in the travelling mindset after having had such a relaxed 10 days on Phuket!
