After an amazing few days in Lombok at the villa we flew back to Bali and spent 3 days there relaxing in the pool and wondering around town. It was a really nice end to the holiday with my parents and got to spend some real quality time with them and my brother.
Sarah and I then flew to the Philippines and arrived in Manila after 2 delayed flights at 4am on Friday morning.
We spent Friday relaxing and planning what to do with our 3 weeks here, did some washing and then headed out for some drinks and dinner at the local market and at a superb Mexican bar.
Today we joined an organisation called True Manila (you can find them on Facebook) and spent the day with them visiting street kids in the poor neighbourhoods and handing out food and toys. The day was really eye opening but also really enjoyable playing with the kids and seeing how happy they were to receive something as simple as an apple.
Some of the conditions they live in are horrific but a ride on my shoulders and a sticker put a big smile on their face. The guy who runs the organisation (Edwin) is a true hero and one of the most humble people I have met.
Tonight we are going back to the local night market for some food and an 80p beer before flying to Coron tomorrow at 12.15pm!
