As usual with things like this in Turkey, the best part of today was spent screwing around. As a tour leader I did feel the urge to try and organize people a bit better so we could be on our way quicker, but I fought the urge at every turn. You're on holidays for the love of God, I lectured myself.
I finally boarded my gulet at 12pm, after it was supposed to leave at 10:30am and set off and met the other passengers. All of whom seem like a lot of fun. Our first stop was Butterfly bay, which was really just a small pretty bay, with no butterflies because it is summer and it is too hot for them. Most of us just opted for swimming in the crystal clear turquoise water. We then moved onto Oludeniz for about a five minute look at the lagoon and then onto St Nicholas island for the sunset.
We had the option of climbing up the hill on the island to watch the sunset from the small fort at the top, but we all just opted to watch it either from the water or from the boat. We had diner as the sun was setting, which was really lovely and then we all pretty much went off to bed as soon as it got dark. It was so hot we all slept up on deck as the rooms were like saunas. I slept on the cushioned bench where we had all had dinner with a guy from Victoria whose name was Butch. The table near the bench had neon lights under it which did not help me sleep, but the fresh air was amazing and it felt good to be sleeping outside again.
