I was woken up with a start at 2am this morning as the bus pulled into a random truck stop for a 45 minute breakfast break this morning. Viva Turkey. I had a look around in the giant empty hall that was the restaurant and bought some helva and some chips. I then sat around outside sharing a gozleme with a stray cat.

I eventually got back on the bus and went back to sleep, I was woken again around 7am when we stopped somewhere for about another hour for yet another break. I wouldn't have minded this so much, however, I knew we were only about an hour away from Kusadasi, if that! You know what they say, Ignorance is bliss.

I finally arrived at Kusadasi Otogar and immediately set about purchasing my ticket for Wednesdays trip to Fethiye. The only bus was at 9:30am, perfect, that sound get me there about check in time. I checked the ticket and the silly girl had given me a ticket for today. I went back and made her change it and then proceeded to find a taxi to take me to Hotel Grand Onder. I found one easily enough who did not rip me off and used his meter. Did I mention how much I love Turkey.

I chose this hotel for one reason, this was the nice place all the organized tours at Fez used to stay. I always got shafted to Kusadasi Inn, to deal with the lemmings at the travel agency there! I was determined to stay at this place. I was not disappointed.

I waited for about an hour in the lovely lobby chatting to Dad on facebook, for my room to be ready. I then went up to my room to discover it had air conditioning, a fridge, a double bed and even a shower where the water actually stays in the shower and doesn't make a mess on the floor. Tucan should watch out, I could get used to this.

I immediately started to de night bus myself by having a good long shower and then went for a walk into town. It was a really hot day and perhaps I should have waited a bit, but I only have two days here and I wanted to make the most of it. I didn't last long in the heat. I had lunch in town and basically came straight back, and spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool at the hotel. I then went back to my room with the intention of having a short nap only to fall asleep and wake up too late to do anything.
