Quite a big sail today, with cold weather and rough seas as we head off to Markarska and the home of the world's largest shell collection. No you read right, that's apparently the biggest draw card here.
We arrive just after lunch and Janice gives me a quick whip around this small town, which looks super imposed onto the mountain range behind it. We go back to the boat and she tells me to go have a look around on my own. The draw of the shell collection is just too great, I must go and look at it and see what all the fuss is about. I find the old Franciscan monastery it is kept in and the caretaker must open the collection just for me. It's quite interesting actually with different coloured shells from all over the world.
After the excitement of the shell collection I head back to town and stop in at a local shop for ice cream and pizza and then head back to the boat. Janice and I then sit in a café drinking coffee for the rest of the afternoon and doing our internet business. We don't do too much for the rest of the day until after dinner when we need to go to Aurora and tell them to turn the music off and take them to the nightclub on shore. After about half an hour of coaxing and running across the street in the pouring rain, we manage this. Unfortunately, I have decided to have dry night due to the amount of alcohol I've consumed in the past week and sit there drinking my coke and watching all the drunk idiots dance. I don't last long and head back to the ship for an early night. Strange how going to be at 1am is now considered an early night!!
