Got up and had breakfast an American diner with Alana, I then hopped online and sorted a few things out like routes to my couch surf host and where my hostel is in buffalo, I then said goodbye to Alana and shortly after I headed out to do some sightseeing, I hopped on the Plash bus and headed to the Penitentiary, it's the oldest prison still standing in the USA and I managed to wrangle a discount being a backpacker, it was similar to Alcatraz where it was a self guided audio tour, it was really interesting and one of my highlights was seeing Al Capones cell which looked like a mini hotel suite, that man knew how to live! I really enjoyed it but I think Alcatraz was a wee bit better. After the prison I walked (in the blistering heat) to the rocky steps and the rocky monument. I took a few pictures of the rocky statue and then after a bit of time in the shade ran the rocky steps, sweet lord it was hot but felt awesome doing it, got a couple snaps at the top and then after cooling down took a wonder down the Main Street towards Love Park (grabbed a soda on the way) and got a snap of the iconic 'Love' statue there, after the park I headed to city hall and another small park followed by Imperial Station Market, this market was super awesome and had heaps of mini food stalls all selling tons of different things. I grazed a little bit and got a snack from a few places, it was getting to mid afternoon around now and I wanted to watch the Spain vs Chile game, so I decided to swing by the liberty bell on the way back but there was a huge line so I decided I'd do that another day and headed back to the hostel a bit early to bask in the air con. The game kicked off and I watched it all, could not believe Spain got knocked out, but was a good game! After the game I grabbed my bag out of storage and hopped on the bus to near my couch surf host Maggie's place, after a short walk I was there and she let me in, we got to know each other and had dinner together. After dinner we met one of her colleagues and then headed to the park down the road as her company team were having a kick ball game, I'd never seen a kick ball game so was pretty interested, they ended up losing by one run which was gutting but was a good game! After the game we headed back to her colleagues house for a BBQ and a couple beers which was pretty awesome, after the BBQ started to die down we headed back home via a bar, we met two locals outside and they invited us to join them for drinks, the two guys literally bought all my drinks for the evening just because I was British, bless this accent! Had a few shots and a few beers and then decided to call it a night as Maggie had work the next day, we got back and I made my sofa bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.
