7-9 January 2014
We didn't do much on the day we arrived apart from sleep off the jetlag! The next couple of days were spent wondering around Low Yat Plaza where we found floors of Laptops, cameras, phones and tablets. We also went to a few of the shopping centres which were decorated for the Chinese new year. We used the Monorail to get around which was really cheap and close to our hotel.
We thought we were being clever deciding to go to the KL tower instead of the Petronas towers because they were higher. That backfired! The fog set in the minute we got into the taxi to the towers and by the time we had paid and taken the lift to the top the city was covered and we could see nothing! When we got back to the hotel, we didn't want to be defeated so, we ventured out in the rain to at least get some photos of the Petronas Towers.
We were surprised at how westernised the city was (apart from the distinct lack of good food!). It turned out to be more of a stop-off city and the next day was when the real travelling was due to start!
