The next stop on our travels was the Cameron Highlands up in the mountains. To get there we took a 5 hour bus trip and endured the loudest Aircon we have ever heard! It was literally like a motorbike engine over our heads!
When we arrived in the rain and checked in to our luxurious 'Resort & Spa' (yeah right!) we ventured out for dinner in the one street town. We found a small Japanese restaurant where we had a good feed. The Japanese owner tried out his English scones, cream and jam on us - we were happy to oblige of course! He hadn't made a bad go of it!
Over the next couple of days we took a tour of the local farms and attractions. This included a visit to the Cameron Boh Tea Plantation, owned by a Scot, a Butterfly farm with lots of one type of Butterfly, a Bee farm where the bees were hiding from the rain, a stawberry farm where all the ripe ones had already been picked and a Rose farm with plastic flowers. Oh and the first Buddhist temple of many! The rest of our time was spent chilling out in the local Starbucks and going back to the Japanese restaurant for more scones and tea.
