The Gagudju Girls
hi mate, we have just wet ourselves laughing at your postcard. Not one to exagerate now are you Philippa! Unfortunately, life here in Kakadu is not quite as exciting, though we did come very close to the jaws of a rather large crocodile and only managed to escape such a traumatic death by poking it in the eye with an oar of our mere 3m tin boat. I was also chased across to the toilet block by a so called mate accompanied by a snake, was not impressed at 3am, as you can imagine. Anyway, sounds like you are having a wicked time, but try not to put your life in danger too much. We look forward to reading more postcards. Keep having fun, we miss you Claire and your bestest friend in the whole wide world xx

Hello Sigourney,
Sounds like you're having an amazing time on your travels(although a bit too outdoorsy for my liking) where are the shops?? I'm just jealous as I'm writing this from work, upto my eyeballs in paperwork. I'm off for two weeks from tomorrow though.Going on an expedition of my own - off to Edinburgh for a couple of days for the fringe festival, I can tell your jealous. I've also got my niece staying for a few days, going to the grossology exhibition at Liverpool museum and Chester zoo, may see some of your wildlife friends.
Anyway, going to leave work now. May see you on the 30th.
Take care

Hi Phil
Aren't you a brave girl then!! Sounds like you had an exhausting time with those gorillas. You haven't told us anything about the people you are with but you certainly sound as if you are having a great time with them whoever they are. Not many people can say they have been chased by a gorilla. We are still having a heatwave in England and I have been in the garden all afternoon with Margaret and Jude, who used to work with us and her little girl Millie. It's lovely to be able to keep in touch with you and I hope you get to wash all that muck off soon Love mum xxx
Ethne
Lovely to follow your trail, hope you are enjoying your adventure. Our move went well and we have unpacked hundreds of boxes, but still have a garage full, I think they are going to have to go to a car boot sale!!! We are enjoying being down in the south west, and the job situation looks promising, so fingers crossed there will be work by the end of September. Take care Love Ethne

Hi Phil, how's it going? It's a dead hot Wednesday morning and I have just painted the celing in my spare room. What a comparison to what you are up to! Have you done your swimming with dolphins yet? It sounds great you lucky thing. Just booked a flight to Amsterdam on Saturday with Denny. Only £80 which is quite good. Loads of cheap deals for Malaga too but I will wait until you are there so I can stay rent free haha. Let us know what you are up to, loads of love cath xxx
Ps Hope you liked the message off the loose cannon. She is as daft as a panda.

Hi love, I'm trying to follow your itinerary and I think you will be either back in Kampala or at the Bugugali falls now, so wherever you are I hope you are still having a good time and that you managed to see some gorillas, or at least one anyway. How are your feet bearing up with all that walking? Has been very hot and sunny here today and is supposed to last all week, which is nice. Looking forward to hearing from you again love mum and dad xxx
Mam's Best Friend
Hi Philippa...Helen gave me your address and have to say am very impressed with it all....and haw good is Archie logging on....bet there's not many grandpas able to keep up with him! Your stories about the climbing and travelling make me feel embarrassed to say that I couldn't cope with going out into the garden today until late afternoon cos it was so hot. By 1pm I was demented with being stuck indoors so went off to buy new umbrella... I started to panic a little after finding Ikea and B&Q were all sold out but good old Asda saved the day. Your trip to the gorillas and your wsimming with dolphins sound like a dream come true. Hope you've managed to find some soap and water by the time you get this. Take care Love Margaret xxx
Grandpa
Hi there Africa, this is wild Whickham, and the wind blowing in from Uganda definitely smells sweeter so I gather you must have had a shower somewhere. Yesterday, Sunday we had a very pleasant day with Michael. Had our lunch at the Potters Wheel, went down to the harbour at North Shields and had a walk along the promenade, back to the car, sat and watched the ships in the river then I made a cup of tea, back home to Whickham then George took Michael back to Washington, while I made another cup of tea for the two old Wrincklies (spelling ! ). then unfortunately it was back up to the home at Burnopfield.
All our love Philippa
