Somehow last night I lost my mobile phone and am annoyed at myself. I have so many photos that I had taken on it. All the times I never took my camera out and just used my phone for those funny moments. Thankful I have been keeping this diary. It was supposed to be a blog, but other than a few private moments that have been removed it's turned into a diary. For the first time on this trip I have a sense of loneliness. I split from Monica before I came travelling and between leaving Sapa and losing my phone this feeling has struck me. I pull myself together and on the way down the stairs I see Ralphs mural on the wall. I smile and take a photo of it before I explore more of the City. I happily get lost in the maze of streets, keeping my mind occupied. I go looking for a new phone as I need it to record notes and take the odd photo or 3. I find an Asus at 60 quid so not too bad a hit. With all the messing around and lack of phone I miss Sam's Facebook message to say he is in town and has popped into the hostel. I had missed him by a matter of hours. I go out to a local place to try Pho with pork. Not the best example of it but a nice location where I can watch people walk by on the busy streets outside. By chance I catch Sam as he pops in with Siobhan who has arrived in Hanoi. This raises my spirits and nice to see a familiar face. He is catching a train south so maybe we will meet again on this trip. I sit in the common area with a coke. I try sitting outside on the benches, but after a few minutes the humidity is too much. Feels like the air is going to explode. It's just getting hotter and hotter. Rain has been coming in short bursts, but coming from a country that has its fair share, I feel its in the post.
