Today I am thinking that it was not such a good idea to go out drinking last night as the football match finished quite late and I had to be up at 06:30 this morning to catch a bus to Da Lat at 07:00.
I had the option of going to Mui Ne which was by the coast again or going to Da Lat which was inland a bit and set up high in the hills at 1475m above sea level. I decided Da Lat as I was getting a little fed up of the humidity and the heat of Vietnam and the cooler temperatures up here seemed appealing.
As you can quite imagine, I slept very well on the bus and woke up just as we were in our final few miles approaching Da Lat. The journey seemed to take no time at all, but it was around 6 hours, I think.
The bus dropped everyone off just outside a hotel called Phuong Hanh, I went in and checked the room and got a private room with a fan for $10 per night. As it was quite a bit cooler in Da Lat, I didn't think it was as necessary to have an air-conditioned room this time.
After checking in I had a nap and by the time I woke it was time for dinner, so I grabbed a map and headed out for a walk around town to see what was about. I found a little restaurant called Tu Ahn’s Peace Cafe. The owner/chef was called Tu Ahn and she was so energetic and loud for such a small woman, but she asked my name and recommended a dish for me which was very nice. I had a few drinks here and then headed back to my hotel for an early night for once. This was the first time for quite a while where I didn’t know anyone and had to go to dinner and eat on my own. It was quite weird.
