After the depressing day of visiting the Killing Fields and the (S-21) Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, I decided it was time to leave Phnom Penh and head south on the bus to Sihanouk Ville. Where I could relax a bit by the sea on the beaches down there.I didn't really get up to much today, just sat on the bus for about 6 hours while we drove down to Sihanouk Ville and then once I had found a hostel and booked in, which was the Guesthouse GSK at a cost of $5 (US)...

I knew today was not going to be a happy day but quite the opposite, it was a very sad and depressing day but it was something that I had to do as I wanted to learn about the horrible genocide that Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge inflicted on Cambodia between 1975 and 1979 and learn some more about the history and the wars of this country. Peace was finally found in 1991 when both sides met in Paris and signed a peace accord and the Khmer Rouge were finally demised ...

Today was yet another early start with me having to be at reception at 7am to get the bus to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Little did I know that I was going to have to carry my bags 500m up the road to where the bus was waiting for me.
