Breakfast in the Emporium. Then a look at the Art Deco shop across from hotel. We than set off for Wellington. On route I bought some shorts in sale. A bargain. I thought I had better change the ones I had been wearing. Chris bought some trousers.
On looking at map I saw that we were going through Paraparaumu. Aunt Ivy used to live there and I'm sure my mum had visited. I requested a small detour. We parked by beach and went on a little walk. It looked a very pleasant suburb of Wellingron.
On to Wellington where we checked into Rydges Hotel. This was very central and near the harbour area. Mary and I returned car to Avis (Hyundai IMAX) as we did not want it in city and we had to hand back before we took ferry to Picton on Sorh Island. This was a harrowing journey what with rush hour traffic and a lack of knowledge of the one way system. 2 hours later we returned to hotel having left car at ferry port. We will ked the dock area looking for a restaurant. Many of the old dock buildings had been converted to restaurants and bars. It was all very vibrant.
We had a meal in a German restaurant. Food just OK.
Back to hotel where the Australian Cricket team were just booking in.
