A beautiful morning in Aickland. Blue skies and temperatures in high 70s. We decided to visit Sky Tower. The tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere. From the top we could see for 50 miles in every direction. Auckland Harbour is very beautiful and dotted with many islands 1 in 6 inhabitants of Auckland own a boat. Not surprising considering the proximity and extend of the oceans.
In the afternoon we took the hop on off bus. We visited the Museum and Eden Park the home of All Black rugby and NZ cricket. We also saw many interesting things. Auckland is so green there are numerous parks and other green spaces. We have seen no litter graffiti or loutish behaviour. This evening we returned to Sky Tower for a beautiful meal in the orbiting restaurant. The views of harbour were again magnificent. We saw a giant cruise ship leave port on its way to Sydney.
Tomorrow we head north to Bay of Islands. Looking forward to seeing some rural NZ.

Janet You sound as if all are having a great time. We didn't explore much of Auckland. Just the harbour and a boat trip to Devonport. Enjoy the bay of Islands. Wet and windy here.
