After an early start we finally reached San Francisco and the weather was alot different to New York 'finally, sunshine'.

We decided we would walk to our hotel from the BART station, bad idea!! Why do maps always make things look closer than they are, well plus the fact that there are endless steep hills ...... just say it was a challenging and funny journey!!!

Our hotel here was so much better than New York, but was to be expected.

Even though Peter has been before, we still enjoyed seeing the sights. Its amazing how tours and places can change within a few years.

I have to say the highlight of the trip was going to Alcatraz, something i have always wanted to do. We even got to meet a former inmate 'Darwin E. Coon' (see our pictures 'not just a random old man i'm with'), he was there doing a book signing for his new book.

We also spent a day at Yosemite National Park. The snow on the mountains was still knee deep but still plenty of sights and fun we had with it :-)

We both agree that San Fran is alot nicer than New York and would recommend anybody who hasnt already been to go and pay a visit.

We cant believe we have only been out here not even two weeks, as we have done and achieved so much already. We have made our plans for the rest of our America trip, making sure we have put in a few rest days before we burn out.
