I arrived in Adelaide around 0520 after spending 9 hours or so on a coach, my least favorite form of travel. When I arrived I was greeted by my cousin Yvette and her fiancée Dave (Wild Dog) and they took me back to their farm in Middleton about an hour away where I met Dash and Jay Jay. The latter spent 2 days barking at me until I gave him a treat and decided he liked me. I spent a few days catching up with my family before I headed back into Adelaide to meet my little brother James. We spent 2 nights in sleepy Adelaide. The first night we headed out but I think we would have found more life in a graveyard so we headed back to the hostel. The next night was a bit more successful as we found a few pubs with some people in them and then stumbled across an Irish bar that was full kiddies that had just graduated from high school and a few people I met whilst traveling from Sydney to Melbourne. Basically we got smashed. We spent the next day watching the cricket, which was pointless, and met up with Yvette and Dave, had some grub and headed back to Middleton.
The next week was mainly dedicated to getting everything sorted out and prepared for the wedding. We did manage to find time to visit 5 different winery's in Mclaren Vale during the week and sample pretty much every wine, port and Muscat they had to offer. It was rude and quite possibly gay not to, it was free. The night before the wedding me and James thought it would be a good idea to polish a bottle of Bundaberg OP (over proof) rum and a few beers. During our drunkenness we thought it would be funny to get a pair of Dave's (clean) boxers, rub some coffee granules into the back of them to look like a giant skid mark and attach them to the gate for the whole world to see. The next day i attended Yvette and Dave's wedding a tad bit hungover, watched the ceremony and proceeded to consume vast amounts of Coopers Pale Ale with the rest off the guests most of whom I had never seen before in my life. All in all the wedding went well and a good time was had by all, I think?
James went back to England on the Monday and Yvette and Dave went on their honeymoon the day after leaving me to look after the estate. Before catching my flight to Perth on the Sunday I visited Goolwa and Victor Harbour and went on a tour of the surrounding beaches with my uncle Rob and two of the dogs, Milo and Jay Jay.
