After leaving Devon where we were having air suspension fitted on the rear of the truck, we travelled about half way between there and London and had to go back as we developed a slight air leak and one of our gauges kept on dropping. Luckily, it turned out to be nothing serious only a leak from one of the valves and we were soon on the way again.
We eventually caught the 8.20 p.m. train on the Euro Tunnel some four hours later than the one we had booked. As it was 10p.m. in France by the time we left Calais, and as we didn't know where the nearest campsite was we decided to stay in a hotel. We drove just short of an hour to St. Omer and got the last room at an Ibis in the centre of town where we literally crashed out without even having dinner we were so tired after a hectic first day but at least after all the months of waiting we had finally left the U.K and were on our way!!!!
