Today we visited Ecolarno, which is another roman ruin that was destroyed in 79AD by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, it's just less famous than Pompeii, but has been much better preserved. The reason being is that it was mostly only volcanic matter that swept over the city, killing the people but carbonating organic materials like wood and cloth. So when you walk around Ecolarno you can still see bits of wooden window frames and doors today. So it was awesome see this and the whole town. The picture is of the ruins and the volcano in the background.
