Hi all, Well this is my third day in Auckland and the weather has been quite good actually, considering it's nearly winter here. On Wednesday, we went driving along the beach - on the sand - in a 4x4 which was cool and walked up Muriwai beach for the views and see a colony of Gannets! Yesterday, Ben took me fishing around Waitiki Island which was funny because I got to drive the boat and caught 4 miniscule fish (Ben did most of the work, I just took all the glory - which isn't very much considering the size of the fish but anyway!). Today we took a drive up to Owera Beach and up the mountains. The scenery is beautiful when you go a bit out of the city. All rolling hills, farmlands and stunning sea views. The plan is, on Monday morning we set out in the car and drive slowly down the north island to Wellington, stopping at the important places along the way. Then I go on to visit the south island whilst Ben returns home. I'll spend two weeks in the south and return up to the north to fill in the gaps. My work visa for Australia came through 2 hours after I applied for it, so I might be looking for a bit of fruit picking work when I get back to Sydney!!! Bye for now. Love Pen x
