We finally left Kampala and caught a ferry from Bukakata to Kalangala on the Ssese Islands in the north western part of Lake Victoria. Spent a couple of hours in the local town before leaving - it's amazing to watch how labour intensive it is for the Ugandan people to get timber from the Islands onto the mainland. One guy would throw a plank of wood over the side of the boat into the lake, another would pick it up and pass it to someone stacking them on the side ...

We travelled a terrible 10 hours on the worst road in africa to get to Murchinson Falls (the drive is known as an african massage). The falls are the most powerful in the world!! Very spectacular - the nile has to fit through a gap of 7 metres! We also went on a few game drives into the surrounding national park. We're hanging out in Kampala the capital of Uganda for the next few days. We are staying right in the city centre next to the fresh produce markets. This town never sleeps! The locals eat dinner late and party all night. The traffic is insane and you really put your life in your hands trying to cross the street.
