A quick addition to the Serengeti entry...
We were fortunate on our way out of the Serengeti to visit a Maasai village. The Maasai people are allowed to continue living and grazing their cattle within the National Parks and conservation areas as they are self sufficient. They eat only milk, meat from the own cattle herd, and the blood from a cow... hmmm... The first 10 minutes of the experience were probably the most chaotic of my life to date! I didn't have a chance to process what was going on before people started grabbing my hands and putting jewellery around my neck and on my head and trying to get me to jump up and down in time with their dance! When I managed to start seeing what was actually going on we were welcomed with a cultural dance and then shown into their tiny little huts which are built by one of the wives. So, so small. 3 little beds around a little fire and that was it. No light, no fresh air and it was rank inside... Very, very interesting to see!! I'll post some photos! cj :)
