Bagamoyo is a small coastal town on the coast of Tanzania about 1.5hrs drive north of Dar es Salaam. After Zanzibar we headed to Bagamoyo to check it out. Bagamoyo used to be a busy port supplying all of east africa before Dar es Salaam was established. Now its a ghost town.. unfortunately a lot of the beautiful architecture in the old town has gone to ruin. Basically now its a fishing village.
It was Butch's birthday so we had a big party in the evening. We had an awesome african dance troupe that night! Fired up with lots of booze we joined in the dancing and even did some bar top dancing. It almost ended in disaster with both me and Butch off balance!!
The next day we were very hungover (or was that just me?) we went to see the witchdoctor to get our fortunes told. It was really all a bit of a crock but fun just the same. At least my futures not as bad as Cath's which is just dark... everything is going to be bad and she needs lots of traditional medicine to help! (Maybe she just looked the most gullible)
Anyway we headed back to Dar es Salaam and stayed across the harbour in little huts on the beach for a last night together as a group. Very sad to see everyone go - had a great time with all!
